Stephen was a good friend for many years. He helped me get a job when I was a single mother with 3 children trying to get on my feet. He was a very kind and caring man. He loved his children and had a strong faith in God. We will miss him dearly.

With Stephen's passing from this mortal time in eternity, he has been given I'm sure the beautiful awakening to the light of absolute truthfulness and love beyond comprehension. I am and always will be grateful for the time (however short) that Stephen and I shared on this place called Earth. I was blessed in our journey by the experiences and many lessons learned through joy, laughter, love and even heartache. Stephen Gilmore my love....those beautiful blue eyes and that wonderful smile of yours remain with me,,,,,till we meet again.

Stephen, I was married to you for 17 years. We've been fortunate to have 2 children and surrounded by good friends and family throughout our lifetime. Our Heavenly Father has always looked after us and blessed us beyond measure. We are grateful for the gospel and knowing that someday we will all be reunited.

I've known Stephen for decades. He was one of the most friendly and caring individuals I've know. Our paths did not cross much but when they did, he was always willing to take the time to catch up on what was going on in our careers. I will miss these moments. The next time our paths cross, I'm sure our conversation will pick up where we last left it. My heart felt sympathy goes out to his family.

Our deepest sympathy to Stephen's family. I only regret we didn't get to know him better, other than a "hi" and "bye" each day as next-door neighbors. He will certainly be missed.

I was so sad to read about Steve's death. I first met Steve in the early 1980's and saw more of him when he lived here in Park City. He was a great supporter and friend who has left us far too soon.

To Family and Friends of Stephen, I have known Stephen since about 1987, when he and Kathy moved into our ward. I build two pools for him and enjoyed the business relationship as well as the friendship. I always enjoyed talking to Stephen about business, as he was so intelligent in that arena, and catching up, as we did on a few occasions during the past 22 years. He was so proud and loving when talking about his children, they were the apple of his eye. I was thinking about him just a few days ago and wondered how he was doing, and thought I should call....I am sad for his children, I know they will miss him and I will miss hearing from him also on occasion. He was a good man. Debbie Gifford

Steven and I had many conversations together, affectionately and primarily for the purpose of sorting out life. He was a sensitive and compassionate human being and will forever hold a special place of fondness in my heart as a good friend. His children were of utmost importance to him, always forward in his thoughts and concerns. It is beautiful to know that in the last years of his life, he found deep love with Pam. I'm glad he is at rest and peace, and will miss him. Margaret Johansen (Henderson, NV)

Dearest Stephen,
You were my oldest friend in Las Vegas, and one that I will always cherish. I cannot express what your friendship has meant to me over the years, or how much my family and I will miss our "Stevie Wonderful"! Thank you for the love, the laughter, the knowledge you shared with me, and for many memories. You will always be in my heart, and therefore never far away. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.
Lots and lots of love,

Over 40 years ago I met Stephen while dating his younger sister. I remember him as a cool guy and that we got along well. I am further saddened by the fact we have been practically neighbors for almost 25 years and did not know it until today. I wish I would have known, how short life truly is, my condolences to his family. (Rick Wilder, Henderson Nevada)

I feel like I have lost a life-long companion. I've known Stephen since he was a scrawny 24-year old and I was a scrawny 18-year old. A bond was formed that has spanned 40 years -- and not a year went by without many phone calls, many visits as we passed through each other's home towns, many breakfasts, lunches, dinners (and he was always the gentleman insisting on picking up the tab). We laughed, we cried, we philosophized, we shared the joy we experienced and cherished in becoming parents -- him a father to beautiful Courtney and handsome Blake -- and me a stepmom to three beautiful girls - Andrea, Amber and Allison. He was such a great example of unconditional love, thoughtfulness, generosity, and, in spite of many of life's challenges, remained true and faithful to his beliefs and to his Patriarchal calling in this life. I will miss my friend deeply; but I am thankful that he is no longer held back by the illnesses he has suffered this past year. Stephen, I will miss your beautiful smile and comforting voice. Thank you for the happiness and love you brought into my life.

My heart is very sad to hear that I have lost a very dear friend and former boss. You were like family to me and John and I so appreciated you and your family in so many ways. It was a sweet experience working for you those 8 years, but even sweeter knowing you as our dear friend. You had the biggest and kindest heart I have ever known, there wasn't anyone you weren't willing to help. We will miss you so much. I'm so very sorry that you had to suffer for so many months. I'm sure it is a very sweet joy to be with your mother again. Our love always to your family. Thanks for the memories, love you. John & Jennie Green

Stephen was a very special gift in my life. While my heart aches from his loss, I am filled with gratitude for having this wonderful, kind friend to whom I could turn, share, trust, learn from and laugh with. Stephen Gilmore's life is a celebration of humanity and kindness. My gratitude and sympathy go to his wonderful siblings, loving family members Kathy and children, and Pam for all they did to take such good care of him.
