Steven Shaw Obituary
STEVEN SHAW SR. Steven J. Shaw Sr., 66, of Las Vegas, passed away Feb. 13, 2011. A lifetime resident, he was born Sept. 15, 1944, in Las Vegas. He was a U.S. Army tank commander during the Vietnam War. He was the recipient of the Purple heart, Bronze Star, Army Commendation, Good Conduct, Vietnam Service and National Defense Service Medals. He was the manager of NAPA Auto Parts for 35 years. Steven loved his family, pets, roses, gardening, fishing, camping, cooking, Hennessy Cognac, his 1973 Nova and 1977 Oldsmobile. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Kenny J. Shaw Jr. Steven was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife, Christina, of 15 years; brothers, David and Ed Taylor and Mark Landers; sisters, Susan Shaw, Toni Thornburg, Jan landers, Autumn Cardas and Patricia Prins; children, Mickey, Debra, Steven Jr., Melissa, Scott, Chris, Nan and Joey; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 12:40 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Dad, it's been to long. I miss you so much and wish I could have taken your last breath. Your my world Sir. and I'm proud to be your solider. I will follow you forever. Please talk to me......... Thank you for making me become a piece of what you are and what you stood for. I miss the fishing trip because that's the only time you bought me skittles. lol -- it also ment the time you taught me life lessions I still use today. Its alway " 0 dark:30" on my watch for you dad.

It was great working with him for 25 years or so, he was a good guy all around. He will be missed. A great boss I regret not seeing him in the last few years. Good wishes to his family.

I loved Steve with all my heart. He was the best friend any one could ever ask for. I will miss him a lot. good luck to his wife I know he loved her very deeply.

I worked with Steve many years ago. Everyone from cheyenne auto would come over on saturday night and play pocker and sundays play horseshoes. you worked hard.enjoy the rest.

Steve, I'm going to miss you so much. I loved checking your mail, visiting you, watch you garden and everything. I enjoyed spending time with you, and hearing about all your stories. You were like a mentor to me, and taught me so much. No matter when I needed you, you were always there, even though I was just your neighbor. You knew me ever since I was little girl, and you'll forever be missed. Love Kassi.

I am very thankful that,I had the pleasure of meeting Steven and his wife Chris at Susan Alisha Shaw's home in Oct.2010. He was a funny and enjoyable soul.I liked him immediately.Even though our meeting was brief,he left a fine lasting impression on me. May GOD Bless You Steven and bring Comfort & Peace to your family.

I worked with Steve at NAPA for a couple years. Best boss I've ever had. He was a great friend as well, always willing to listen. He loved his Hennessy, and I had the pleasure of celebrating Xmas and New Years with a shot together with him back when I worked with him. I will always remember him as a kind, funny, and gentle man. Huge loss for everybody whose life he touched. I will miss you Steve.

I didnt have the pleasure in knowing you for a long length of time..but the small time I knew you I could tell what a loving and wonderful father/grandfather you were. You will be missed by many. Steve and my dad, Chris worked together for most of my life and I have had the pleasure of knowing him like family. I have many fond memories of Steve including many fishing trips with him, my dad, Scott and Chris or Pete and Re-Pete as they were so frequently referred to. Steve was a great man and a great friend. I know Mr. Shaw's granddaughter, Jenn. She is an incredible indiviual with such an outgoing, giving and thoughtful spirit. I can see this is something that was passed down from her Grandfather. He was a true hero in many ways. Our thoughts go out to your family.
