Teresa Deriso Obituary

TERESA DERISO Teresa M. DeRiso, 82, passed away Jan. 9, 2011, in Las Vegas. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she worked in finance in the banking industry for many years. Teresa was a 21-year resident of Las Vegas, a proud member of the Italian-American Federation and a very active and devoted member of St. Viator Catholic Church. Teresa was the beloved sister of Jay (SueEllen) DeRiso of Las Vegas, and Mary Vulpis of Long Island, N.Y.; devoted aunt to many nephews and nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces, and great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces. Teresa was preceded in death by her loving parents, the late Evaristo DeRiso Sr. and the late Assunta DeRiso; brothers, the late Frank DeRiso and the late Nicholas DeRiso; and her nephew, the late Joseph DeRiso. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123. Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas. Interment to follow at Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Donations in Teresa's memory can be made to St. Viator Catholic Church.

Teresa was my "Sister" Associate with the Sisters of the Holy Family and was dearly loved by all. She had a heart of gold and deep love for God. Teresa was always a joy to be with....words cannot express how much we will miss her smiling face. We know she will continue her beautiful smiles from Heaven. She is in God's loving peace!
