Daniel Rousseau Obituary

Daniel L. Rousseau, M.D., age 85, died peacefully at home December 15, surrounded by his loving wife, Josephine (nee Pedro) and his seven children. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Anna (nee Gross) and Irwin Rousseau. His love of learning and his determined spirit were foundations for Dan's rewarding life. Dan was grateful for a blessed life with a strong supportive family, wonderful friends and fulfillment of his lifelong dreams. Dan and Jo were married in 1947 and settled in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Together with Victor Curatolo, M.D., he built several radiology practices in the Mount Clemens and Grosse Pointe areas. He was a man of great conviction, determination, and was gifted with a sharp sense of humor, and his generous spirit helped many in need. Dan attended Marquette University (Medical School of Wisconsin) St. Thomas Military Academy (St. Paul, Minnesota). He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, 1945-1947; and the USAF-1951-1953; Chief of Radiology, Sampson AFB Hospital. Dan had an adventurous life that included flying, swimming, sailing, golfing and extensive traveling. As we just returned from our family visit to Ohio, we learned of the passing of your father. After having had the priveledge of working with and for him for 24 yrs. I am sure you are aware how much I respected and admired him as a physician and honorable man. I especially remember him and your mother supporting Jim and I for our marriage encounter week-end in 1980.
We girls at Professional liked to refer to him as the "Silver Fox" and always remarked how much he reminded us of Johnny Carson.....He liked hearing that, too ! Jim and I are so sorry for your loss and will keep your family in our prayers.
