Frederick Fox Obituary

Frederick Fox Sr., age, 86, of Pinconning, Michigan (formerly of Mount Clemens and Gladwin) passed away on Thursday March 15, 2012 at the VA hospital in Saginaw, Mich. He was born on July 7, 1925 in Mount Clemens, to the late Joseph and Martha (Charbeneau) Fox. Frederick served in World War II in the U.S. Marine Corp. He returned home and married Bernadette Ballor who predeceased. He is survived by his children, Daniel of Manistee, Mich. Fr. Joseph Edward Fox O.P. of the Dominican House of Friars in Washington D.C., David of Middletown, R.I., Michael and Becky ( Zarna) of Ypsilanti, Mich., Timothy and Kathleen (Powers) of Allen Park, Martha and Robert Rastigue of Gladwin, Frederick Jr. and Patricia (Holsbeke) of Mount Clemens, Mich., Margaret and John Huffman of LaFollette, Tenn., Monica and Donald Michael of Ada, Mich, and Marianne and James Glick of Fort Wayne, Ind., 23 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. He owned and operated one of Mount Clemens landmarks Recreation Bowl, he retired to Gladwin, Mich. where he owned and operated Foxtowne Plaza which included Northwoods Restaruant, Motel and Rasty's Lounge. He retired from there and moved to Pinconning, Mich. where he met and married his wife of nine years Connie Jo Wilson. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph John and Edward Donald and two sisters; Sister Modesta IHM (Mary Lorraine), and Bernadine Laura. In accordance with Frederick's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial Mass is planned at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mount Clemens, Mich. on Monday March 26, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Joseph Fox officiating. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Dominican House of Studies in Washington D.C., Macular Degeneration foundation or a Charity of ones choice.

I knew Mr Fox when I worked for my Dad many years ago.. He was a very kind man... I will keep hi s family in my thoughts...

I knew Mr Fox many years ago when they lived in Sugar Springs and we had a cabin near them. I knew several of his kids. He was a very nice man. My thoughts go out to all of you. Having lost both of my parents, it's a difficult journey and I'll be thinking of you.

Known Fred through his business in Gladwin and sold or he bought the house in Linwood through me. He was a great person and very knowledgeable in many things. had a lot of great times together.
