James Boggess Obituary

James Robert Boggess, 87, of Apache Junction, Arizona and formerly Warren and Clinton Township, Michigan, died Monday, April 4 in Mesa, Arizona from natural causes. James was an Army veteran, retired from General Motors, and enjoyed traveling, playing music, and collecting. His travels took him across country many times and he especially loved visiting Arizona Blue Grass events where he could "jam" with friends, once traveling as far as Sweden with band members who were close friends. He was a talented musician who could pick up any string instrument and entertain. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marjorie Boggess, his daughter and son in law, Jill and Dennis Gaitens, his three grandchildren, Kyle, Justin, and Chase Gaitens, siblings Suzanne Falter, Mary (Eric) Follo, Gertrude Roth, Evelyn Mallare, Georginia (John) Butzu, Anna Gehnringer, Robin (John) Zofchak, many nieces, nephews, and friends, and his beloved cat, Sarah. He was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Mary (Peddie) Boggess, his son, Danial Boggess, his brothers, John and Mike Boggess, and his sister Doris Gunthner. Our family is grateful that Jim is at peace. No services will be held at this time. A memorial will be held at a later date.
