Everybody had a special relationship with Jim Corte over the years. Like the time when I need a place to stay and he gave me a key and lived there with him for a while and helped me through. A great supporter and provider over a long time; warmly excitable, always so friendly and treated you like you were the most important person. He did that for so long, for so many years, for so many people. Gave his life up for that joy and the great old pastime of baseball. Nothing ever like sandlot baseball in Michigan in the summer time, back in the 70s and 80s. What a wonderful time of life. But we'll all be together again, playing ball somewhere on some field that Jim lined up for us. Don't give up hope anybody. Thank you Jim, you left such a great legacy. Happy holidays to all and be safe.

Hoping this isn't true, but I guess it is, even went to see a jetbox game and following him all summer. Didn't really know this. Wow, sad, what a pioneer, what an incredible person. providing baseball and kindness and opportunities for so many, for so many years, with enthusiasm and spirit and expertise, knowledge and passion for the game. I'm so sad, I'm so sorry. He always gave the greatest respect anytime, every time saw him. He was a season ticket holder for my Detroit Spirits 1983 championship team. Condolences to so many that played for him and knew him. What a loss.

Attended Notre Dame with Jim and graduated together in1964. Will always remember his great personality and the baby blue T-bird he drove . Last saw Jim at the 50th class reunion in October 2014. We talked about doing a 55th reunion in 2019.
Rest in peace Jim.
