Macon, Georgia - Alva Durward Ware III, a caring father, brother, and grandfather, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 9, 2022, at the age of 69. Durward was born December 30, 1952 in Macon, Georgia, to Alva and Montine Hutchins Ware. He graduated from Mark Smith High School in Macon in 1971 and afterwards Georgia Southern University in 1975. After college, Durward lived in the Savannah area for several years before returning to Macon. If you knew Durward, there is a good chance many of your conversations with him were about food. Durward loved to cook and was quite good at it, notwithstanding his persistent grumblings that his dishes were 'missing something.' He worked in various areas of the food industry throughout his career.
Durward is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children; Taylor (Emily), Brayden, and Caroline Ware; his sister, Gena (Steve) Wilson; and her son, Wesley (Marina); and his family; and his grandson, Garrett Ware. A Celebration of Life is in planning with information to be made available at www.snowsbr.com. In lieu of flowers, treat yourself to a good meal.
