To The Family,

I am a former student from Bruce Elementary and McEvoy Jr. High who was blessed to have had such a wonderful leader in our school system. She was strict but always with poise, grace, and kindness. I remember her smile the most and her willingness to always listen.

I am sure each of your lives were touched by this wonderful role model as she touched so many lives.

Remember that Heaven is a better place with her as our educator.

Prayers and thoughts are with you all.

I will miss her because she was our school principle at one time-Northeast High School(Lasseter). Also she was one of our church member and had been a member for a long time-Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. I will miss see her smiling face. Barbara Suzanne Stephens

The word that comes to mind for me when I think of Ann Henry is "Presence". She had it in abundance. Always calm, always cheerful, always attentive to others, and unfailingly kind.... it was clear that any universe (or school) that she managed would always be an orderly, just, and compassionate place. What a wonderful gift to the students who attended her schools, and what a wonderful role model for us all as human beings.

Miss Henry was one of my favorite and best teachers. She made each class so interesting and we never knew what to expect when we walked in the door. She realized many students were having trouble with the basics and spent several days going over rules of reading, spelling, writing in her history class. I always admired her so very much. She is one of the reasons I am a teacher now.

What a wonderful lady. A great educator, role model and mentor. She taught us Lasseter girls that we could be whatever we wanted to be and she always had a smile on her face. The number of people she had a positive influence on can't be counted. Thanks to Miss Henry our lives have been more blessed.

TO TRULY KNOW HOW GREAT MISS HENRY IS--YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE ONE WHOM SHE WOULD JUST LET POKE THEIR HEAD IN THE OFFICE DOOR AND SAY "I'M LEAVING NOW". SHE WOULD JUST SMILE AND SAY OKAY.

TO MEET HER IN THE HALL VERY UPSET --SHE ASKS YOU WHAT IS WRONG--YOU SAY A WORD THAT WOULD HAVE SENT YOU TO PRISON BACK IN THOSE WONDERFUL DAYS BUT SHE DOESN'T BLINK AN EYE. SHE STANDS THERE BEING THE MOST UNDERSTANDING HUMAN BEING GOD COULD HAVE EVER CREATED.

SHE WAS THE MOST UNDERSTANDING AND PASSIONATE PERSON. SHE KNEW EXACTLY THE RIGHT WORDS TO USE OR NOT TO USE DEPENDING ON THE SITUATION.

I KNOW THAT SHE HAD TO OF HAD THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF INCIDENTS WITH OTHERS BESIDES ME AND SHE WAS EQUALLY AS UNDERSTANDING.

SHE WAS JUST WONDERFUL TO ME AT LASSETTER HIGH SCHOOL.

My high school memories wouldn't have been so wonderful without Miss Henry as the principal of H. S. Lasseter High for girls in Macon, Georgia. She worked diligently to make it a memorable and productive school experience for us and she succeeded. On the intercom she taught us that responsibility must accompany privileges and provided opportunities for us to experience both. Like the alma mater says of Lasseter High, "in our hearts will ever burn your honored name," Miss Henry. We love you.

Miss Henry was my teacher and my first principal when I started teaching. She was a wonderful teacher who cared, but the standard was always set high. This was also true as a principal. Her positive influence helped carry me through 33 years of teaching. I told her this not too long ago and wanted to say it to family and friends. Thank you, Miss Henry.

MS HENRY WAS MY HISTORY TEACHER IN THE 12TH GRADE. I WAS THEN KNOWN AS CAROLE BROWN. I LOVED HER VERY MUCH. I WAS HAVING A LOT OF DIFFICULTY WITH HISTORY AND IF NOT FOR MS HENRY I COULD HAVE HAD TO GO TO SUMMER SCHOOL IN ORDER TO GRADUATE. BUT, SHE GAVE ME LOTS OF EXTRA WORK AND PROJECTS TO DO TO HELP PULL MY GRADE UP. AND I MADE IT! SHE WAS JUST A GREAT TEACHER AND A WONDERFUL HUMAN BEING WHO WILL BE SORELY MISSED.

Miss Henry was our across the street neighbor on Ingleside Avenue, and we truly enjoyed her there, along with Mrs. James. But Elizabeth knew Miss Henry for many, many years. Elizabeth's mother was a girl scout leader and worked with Miss Henry in that capacity. Then, when Elizabeth was a student at Miller, Miss Henry was her government teacher and instilled in her a continuing interest in and love of the subject. She was a wonderful, delightful woman.
