Auburn, Alabama - Ashantye "Shay" Williams, 43, passed away December 8, 2021. Graveside services will be on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 15 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Glover Memorial Mortuary, Inc. The family may be contacted at 120 Ashton Dr., Macon. Glover Memorial Mortuary is in charge of arrangement.

Hey i was shay cousin / god child and she was my godmother shay called me and my sisters and brother her kids and my mom her sister we went to six flags the weekend before she passed away and it really hurt me so much but i wanna say thank for her making my childhood better

Shay was the very first person that I met at FVSU in 1997. She was my roommate, my friend and my sister. I am deeply saddened to know that she is gone. All of the talks, laughs and memories we shared will always hold a special place in my heart. Rest in power my girl!

My deepest condolences goes to Shay´s family. Fort Valley State University, Davison Hall Basement, 1997, is where we met. Roommates, Friends, Sisters, that is how our bond, our family was formed. Shay was always energetic, fun, crazy, silly, a ball of fire. Her distinguished voice and laugh let us all know who was speaking and creating laughter. Shay you will truly be missed. I love you dearly. My heart hurt as our "crew" have lost our first member. Know that you will forever be apart of us. Rest in Heaven, Shay.

I offer my deepest sympathies to Shay´s family. Shay was so energetic, caring and lovable and I am happy to have known her and to call her a friend. I met Shay our freshman year in college and to know her is to love her. I went down memory lane, looking at pictures and remember her smile, her laugh and how funny she was and I will always cherish and remember those things Barbour her. It still seems unreal to hear of Shay´s passing. I will forever cherish the memories of her laugh, her high pitch voice when she gets excited and how she cares about people genuinely . I´m proud of her and everything she accomplished and I´m eternally grateful for having known her.

Ashantye was such a beautiful young woman, I'm shocked to learn of her unexpected passing. Ashantye was always the first to volunteer to help me with the Steve Harvey events. She came to FWS stating she didn't know anything about fish, but she knew her genetics skills and that is what we needed. She jumped in and embraced the Fisheries profession and quickly became an inspiration to so many young women, specially women of color. I will miss her sweet smile.
