Bernard Stanley Obituary
College Park, GA- Family Visiting Hour and Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday Evening, August 16, 2018 at 6:00 PM at Union Baptist Church. A Graveside Service will follow on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Tilla Baptist Church, Hwy 441 in Irwinton, GA.
Bernard, the 4th of six children was born in Dublin, GA on September 15, 1952 to the late Mr. Charles and Mrs. Anna Stanley.
Bernard attended M.M. Burdell Elementary School and was a 1970 graduate of Peter G. Appling High School. He received a diploma in Drafting from Macon-Area Vocational-Technical School. He began and finished his career at Georgia (Power) Southern.
Bernard served his country as a reservist in the National Guard.
Bernard was married to the former Annette Waye and to this union a daughter, Antoinette Latrell was born.
He accepted Christ and was baptized as a young boy at Union Baptist Church, Macon, GA and continued to attend when in Macon. So that he could continue to be of service when in the Atlanta area he united with Cascade United Methodist Church. He served with the Veterans Ministry.
Bernard was a very inquisitive person and loved traveling. He had an interest in the Greek and Mayan cultures.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. James Stanley and a sister, Carolyn who died in infancy.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Antoinette Latrell Erondu (Obi) and her three sons Joshua, Jacob and Noah Erondu of St. Louis, Mo, a son, Gregory Jones of Macon, GA. A step son, Cory Waye (Joy) and his three sons, a devoted step-daughter, Tomeka Gaines(Coy) and her son. His former wife, Ms. Annette Stanley. One sister, Ms. Florence Tate-Williams of Southfield, MI; two brothers, Rev. David L. Stanley, Sr. (Deborah) of Macon, GA and Mr. Virgil Stanley of Clinton, Md.
