Macon , Georgia - Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Macon City Auditorium 415 First Street Macon, GA 31201.
Reverend Bryant Wardell Raines served as the beloved Pastor of The New Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church of Macon, GA. He was the newly elected President of the 6th District of The General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia Incorporated. He was the founder of "Heal the Hood Initiative" to combat violence and address the needs of the total community.
He was a 1995 graduate of Central High School and a 1999 graduate of Clark Atlanta University. He graduated from The United States Army Chaplin Center where he served in The United States Army as the Chaplain Assistant for the Installation Garrison Command, 3rd Infantry Division, and the 4th Battalion 64th Armor Regiment of Fort Stewart, GA.
Pastor Raines was a dedicated and faithful spiritual giant to The New Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, the community and throughout the state of Georgia and touched numerous lives around the world. Pastor Raines' leaves a wealth of love that will forever be cherished by his wife, Ilashia Brezial Raines, mother, Barbara Tharpe Raines; siblings; Curtis, Jr., (LaTonya), Varina (Calvin), and Shun (Cheryl); adopted sisters; Angie, Jacquelyn and Tammy; in-laws; Elizabeth Brezial, Robert (Lashonda), Kimberly Hill; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his lovable extended family of The New Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
Thank you for continuing to practice social distancing while families are grieving the transitioning of their loved ones.

We were deeply saddened by the news of Bryant’s passing. Now, prayers and fond memories are what we must remember about Bryant. Barbara, I can see your smile as we conversed during our lunch breaks at Burghard when you spoke of Bryant and how proud you were of him and his accomplishments. I cannot even begin to understand what you’re going through right now, but God knows best. Remember, the hope of salvation is most important in our lives when death touches us. Bryant has found eternal rest; his soul is now free and at peace. Please accept our deepest condolences and know that God loves you and can restore your spirits, give you peace, and strengthen you. My heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of Pastor Raines. His spirit will live on in the lives of so many that he touched and inspired. God is truly getting an angel that grew his kingdom and shared his love through words and actions. May the Macon community be blessed for the work that was done by him and through him. Less than a year ago, Pastor Raines graciously spoke at my moms memorial service. I will be forever grateful for his kindness. Thank God for his gift and his life.
