Daryl Smallwood Obituary
Byron, GA- Daryl Smallwood, 39, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM at Southside Baptist Church, 1040 South Houston Lake Road in Warner Robins, with funeral service following at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in Prosperity Church Cemetery in Rupert.
Daryl proudly served in the United States Marines and then began his career in law enforcement as a jailer in Dooly County. He became a mandated officer in 2005 and began to work patrol. He transferred to Crisp County Sheriff's Department in 2011, then to Peach County in 2015. He was always listening to music and enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle. He was a simple man, easy going, and loved being a great father to his children.
Survivors include his spouse, Melanie Bickford; his children, Daryl "Hawk" Smallwood, Harlie Ann Smallwood, and Wyatt Smallwood; parents, Becky and Ernie Foster of Vienna and Johnny Smallwood of Byron; and a sister, Serenity Smallwood of Byron.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Georgia Sheriffs' Boys Ranch, 5671 Boys Ranch Rd, Hahira, GA 31632. Please go to www.rooksfuneralhome.com to express online condolences. Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of arrangements.
