Deborah Hanson-Hauck-Williams Obituary

Deborah Hanson-Hauck-Williams

Deborah Hanson-Hauck-Williams

(1950 - 2013)

Deborah Ann Williams, 62, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2013 at Dougherty House with family and friends by her side.

Debby was born to Howard and Bobby Hanson May 18, 1950 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was educated in Sioux Falls and was active at First Congregational Church. Debby graduated from Lincoln High in 1968, attended Colorado State University and graduated from Augustana College. Deb led a successful sales career with IBM for 27 years and was very involved with the Spokane United Way.

In 1977 Deb married Gregory Hauck in Sioux Falls. The couple lived in Spokane, Washington where their son Cameron was born in 1985.

Debby enjoyed an active lifestyle of golfing, skiing, sailing, biking, running, walking and fishing. An avid traveler, Deb enjoyed adventures all over the world with family and friends. Friendship and conversation came easily to Deb and she will be deeply missed by many.

In 2000 Deb married Richard Williams and moved with Cameron to Salt Lake City, Utah. Sadly Deb was faced with breast cancer and later Benson's syndrome, a rare form of Alzheimer's disease.

Grateful for having shared her life are son Cameron Hauck (Salt Lake City, Utah); brother Robert Hanson and his wife Ann (Sioux Falls, South Dakota); nephews Davis Hanson and Andrew Hanson (Sioux Falls, South Dakota); niece Emily Erfman and her husband Matt and children Charles and Henry (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), Gregory Hauck (Salt Lake City, Utah); Richard Williams (Salt Lake City, Utah); and many extended family and friends.

Her parents, Howard & Barbara Hanson of Sioux Falls preceded Deborah in death.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Edgewood Vista, Dougherty House & Waterford at All Saints for their excellent care and compassion. Memorial donations may be made to First Congregational Church, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Deb, you are in my heart forever! We had so many fun times together at IBM and as friends afterward! I can hear your laughter and it resonates within me now, while at the same time, I grieve. My condolences to Cameron and all your family and friends. Love you and I know you are at peace now!

We are so sad to hear of Debbie's passing and wish the surviving family peace in her absence. Many, many very good and happy years were spent together at IBM in Spokane and on the phone when she moved to SLC. I will miss her greatly.
