Barbara - Family & Friends:

Love Thoughts & Prayers from Classmates of Fremont NE High Class of 1950. I just read the e-mail of Don's
death. Some time in grade school we became classmates (I thought it was from K @ Westside but some other argued they knew Don & Ron @ Eastside. Nevertheless we appreciate(d) Don from "way back".
Moreover, I appreciated reading all the notes of more recent of you Friends who signed the on-line Guest Book.
It was great to see & renew "times" with Don when he stopped in Fremont on the way back to GA from Ron's Funeral.
Blessings to all, with good memories of the time we had with & because of Don - with some extra Blessings to you Barbara.

I'll never forget the sound of Mr. Don's voice when he called my daddy, George Barfield, most every morning when I was a teenager living at home. He always needed or wanted to check in with Daddy about a job that they were working on together. Even though I didn't really know him well, I knew Don Weiche was a good man. For one, because my daddy told me so, but also because of the deep and kind sound of his voice. My condolences to all of you who loved him.

Tracy, Donnie, Adam, and family-I am so sad to hear about Don. As you know, he was a big part of my family's life when I was growing up. I learned to play pool at your house, and I remember riding along in the back of the station wagon with Don driving when our families went places together. He gave me the name Natalie Boopenhalter a long time ago, and still called me "Boop" when I saw him. He was lots of fun and will be missed. I am thinking about all of you during this time.

I will always remember the time that I worked for Mr. Weiche, he was always willing to give neighborhood kids opportunities to work. I also remember that I ate raw oysters for the first time at Lake Tobesofkee that Don had just opened. Still like them today. He always had a big smile and an even bigger laugh. May God comfort the entire family during these difficult days and remind each of us of the special qualities he had and the times shared. I'd bet good money that he is already fishing the greatest place in the universe and smiling big!!
God Bless !!

Tracy, Donnie, and Adam - I am so sorry for your loss. I remember all the fried fish dinners we shared at your house when we were growing up. And I remember the HUGE bowls of ice cream that your dad would eat!! He needed a mixing bowl rather than a regular bowl. :) Your dad was funny, kind, and generous, and he will be missed greatly.
