Macon, Georgia - A Graveside Homegoing Celebration for Erma Cullins Newby will be 1:00PM Friday, August 20, 2021 at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens, 3225 Joycliff Road, Macon, GA 31211.
Survivors include: husband, George Newby, Jr., Norfolk, VA; children; George (Charlene) Newby III, Baltimore, MD, Valerie Newby and Donna Newby, both of Macon; sister, Dorothy Binford, Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Thank you for continuing to practice social distancing and wearing masks while grieving the transitioning of our loved one.

Erma Newby was a beautiful person both inside and out. She dearly loved her family, and spent a good bit of time talking about them. She exemplified her naturally-born leadership skills through the proficiently and understandingly manner in which she supervised her staff. She was a memorable friend. Most notably she was a wonderful woman of Faith.

I was saddened to hear about the loss of my good friends' mother. I first met Mrs. Newby after a School Christmas Program which her children and other classmates participated in while we attended SPCCS in Macon. Although the encounter was brief, I remembered her as a kind spirit and loving mother to her 3 children - who I felt blessed to be associated with. My thoughts and prayers go out to George, Valerie and Donna and to all of Mrs. Newby's family and friends.
