George Wells Obituary

George B. "Sonny" Wells Jr. -PERRY - George B. "Sonny" Wells Jr., 67, died Sunday, March 2, 2003 at his lakehouse on Lake Sinclair. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at Watson-Hunt Chapel with interment following at Evergreen Cemetery. -George B., a life-long resident of Perry, was a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church; a graduate of PHS and UGA; member of Sigma Nu Fraternity; retired president of Geo. B. Wells Inc. and retired Co-Owner of the Heart of Perry Motel. He was preceded in death by his father, George B. Wells Sr. -Survivors include his wife, Rachel O. Wells; sons, Neal Graham (Robin) of Macon, Chris Wells and Clint Wells, both of Atlanta; a daughter, Jennifer Wells of Atlanta; his mother, Marjorie P. Wells of Perry; a brother, William H. "Billy" Wells (Joanne) of Unadilla; and grandchildren, Brandon and Nicole Graham. -The family may be contacted at the home of Billy and Joanne Wells, 826 Cherry Street, Unadilla. -Those who wish may sign the guestbook registry online at watsonhunt.com.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. George's passing. When I think back to my childhood at the bus station and all the people I met Mr. George was one of the best. I know he is in Heaven smiling. He will be truely missed by all who knew him. May God hold you and comfort you during this time.

I first came to know George B. when he was a student at Perry High School and I was teaching in the Junior High School. After he completed college we became friends. He will be missed by his many, many friends. May God bless you in a very special way at this time.
