I knew Ms Irene. I first met her around 1986 at the Chamber of Commerce where I worked. She noticed me taking pictures. We shared a love of photography and animals. My great aunt was also deaf and I learned sign language as a child. I could talk with her in sign, but she also read lips pretty darn good.
I visited her many times at her home on Bellevue. I even got to visit her dark room. She was an awesome photographer.
Years later, I worked at the Dublin Animal Hospital with Drs Kennedy, Cobb and Lord. Dr. Cobb became Ms Irene's champion as just about every week, she would bring in cats to him to be spayed or neutered. He was so sweet to her.I knew Ms Irene. No matter where I ran into her in Dublin, I was always greeted with a hello and hug. I wished that I had known of her passing. I would have come to honor my friend.
She was also a member of the church that we attended.
