Nov. 26, 1933 - Nov.1, 2014
Dublin, GA- Services for James Joyce, age 80, of East Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at First United Methodist Church of Dublin, GA. Rev. Jody Martin and Rev. Thad Haygood will officiate. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at Hazlehurst Memorial Gardens in Hazlehurst, GA. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Dublin, GA. Mr. Joyce died Saturday, November 1, 2014.
Mr. Joyce, retired from Mohawk, attended Pine Hill United Methodist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and cutting grass. Mr. Joyce was a loving husband and father.
Mr. Joyce was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Joyce and Mary Elizabeth Thomas Joyce; an infant son; sisters, Bernice Pipkin, and Lois Thagard; brothers, Howard Joyce, Bryon Joyce, Robert Joyce, Harold Joyce, and Joel Joyce.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Lillie Keene Joyce, of East Dublin; son Raymond Joyce, of Dublin; adopted daughters, Sarah (Terry) Cook, of East Dublin, Bonnie (David) Porto, of Juliette; sisters-in-law, Myrle (Charles) Howell, of Wrightsville, Betty Sue (Grady) Howard, of Graham, Christine Joyce, of Lumber City, Cheryl Keene, of Navesink, NJ; brother-in-law, Edward (Sandra) Keene, of Gray; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pinehill United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2230 Pinehill Road, Dublin, GA 31021

Ms. Lillie and Raymond and Family,

My Family and I (Ed Ward) are so sorry to learn of your loss. Mr. James will be missed by so many people. We always looked forward to seeing y'all, while out eating and at other times. He will be greatly missed.
