Janey Montgomery Obituary

Janey Neisler Montgomery -FORT VALLEY - Janey Neisler Montgomery, 83, passed away on April 7, 2007 after an extended illness. She was born in Taylor County, Georgia on July 7, 1923 to the late Earl and Bessie Cox Neisler. She was the youngest of five sisters, two of whom preceded her in death. They were Frances Neisler and Helen Neisler Windham. -Janey was retired from Bibb County Department of Family and Children Services. For most of her retired life she resided in Fort Valley. She was a member of the Fort Valley United Methodist Church. Recently, she was a resident of Villa Rose Assisted Living in Byron. She was a talented artist and enjoyed sharing her paintings with family and friends. -Janey is survived by two sisters, Bess Montgomery of Perry and Sara Bohler (Roy) of Titusville, Florida. She has nine nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. They are Clarence Earl Montgomery (Carol) and Sharon Riley of Perry; Helen Williams of Titusville, Florida; Terri Johnson (Starkie), Steve Montgomery (Judy), Havilyn Acree (Gene), Madelyn Scott (Downs) and Melodie Stinson (Bill), all of Taylor County; and Marilyn Windham of Fort Valley. -Services will be held 1:30 P.M. Monday, April 9 at the Fort Valley United Methodist Church with burial in Crowell Cemetery in Taylor County. Dr. John Beck will be in charge of the service. Visitation will be held at Rooks Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 8. -Family may be contacted at 306 College Street, Fort Valley. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity. -Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley has charge of arrangements.
