Dear Iris,
We were shocked and saddened to learn of Joel's death. Lynn called us and we appreciated that so much. I believe you and Joel married right after we did in June, 1972. Those were special times and you certainly married a special man. What wonderful tributes have been written about him! We have a very clear picture of how you and Joel have lived your life. It's hard to believe that our children are all grown and you even have grandchildren. God has promised never to leave us and I know He is with all of you now. Love to all,

Iris,
My prayers and thoughts are with you. I feel as if I have known you and your family for years. During my many travels with Joel, he has spoken of you and your children frequently and with dedicated fondness laced with deep love. Joel was the closest person to a real brother I have ever known. Joel will be deeply missed, but in my heart I know he is residing with our Lord today. Again I will pray God will give you peace that passes anything we can understand.

Iris and Family, I am so sorry to hear about Joel but I do know that there is a new Angel singing in Heaven's Choir this beautiful Sunday morning. Joel was one of the most caring and loving people that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and it was a great pleasure to work for/with him. The first day I met Joel I learned of his love for our Lord and his "Iris and Family"! Joel will truly be missed in this world but I also know he's happy and at home in Heaven.
Love to you and yours!

To the Archer Family,
Joel was a great mentor, friend, co-worker, and boss. When I was a new hire at RAFB twenty-nine years ago, Joel offered a helping hand at a time when I greatly needed one. It was comforting to know he was just down the hall. Over the years he befriended many with his generousity and technical expertise. He set a standard of professionalism for all to follow. I never thought of a world without Joel Archer. We will sorely miss him.

No words can express the love, warmth and positivity Joel "Papa A" Archer exuded. I remember constantly laughing with the Archers in the family kitchen, and his laugh was always the most contagious. I love Iris, Tom, Drew and Rebecca with all of my heart... and I'm thankful for the many hugs and lessons that he passed onto us through the years.

To the Archer Family,
I am sorry to hear of Joel's passing today. Joel often had a group of us for parties and get togethers at his home during our high school years. Those were special times and left special memories for all of us. Thanks to you Mr. and Mrs. Archer for opening your home and helping me to feel welcome. I too enjoyed times at Southside at Joel's invitation. His witness was a positive influence in my life. My prayers are with you all. I pray that you will experience many moments of our Lord's love as he gathers your family and friends around you to listen, to cry, to remember, to laugh and to bring comfort.

Iris,
Phebe and I send our most heart felt sympathy to you and family on the loss of Joel. I had become very close to Joel since he and I shared the time together in choir, and of course both of you in our Sunday School class. With he and I singing the same tenor voice parts in the choir, and sitting next to each other, the news of his passing was just such a shock. Our loss is his gain, now being in the Lord's arms.
Our love and prayers go out to you and the family.

I am so sorry to read of Joel's passing. He amd I were very good friends in high school. I was blessed to be able to call him "friend". My prayers and condolences to the family.

Dear Mrs Ermine Archer,
I was so sorry to hear of your son's death. I don't know if you remember me but I was in your 6th grade class at Neel. Throughout my whole education you were the best and had most influential teacher I ever had. I was a wondering student just getting by on what I could get by on before you . I had slipped through the cracks in math and never made above a "C" before you. After you I was dedicated to my education and made very few "C's". I went on the Mt De Sales took algebra, geometry, trig, and calculus with all "A's" Went on to college and grad school Received my EDS in Reading Instruction. I taught school for 30 years and have retired. When I retired I mentioned at my retirement dinner how you were the one that I modeled my teaching after and told the story of being in your room.
Thank you again for being the great teacher and person you are and for taking the time to guide a lost child back to the right path. My Mom and Dad until there dying day raved about you
Again I am so sorry about your son But wanted to let you know how God used you

Mrs. Archer and Family, I am so very sorry for your loss of Joel. I first met him after his initial retirement from RAFB when he worked for TRW. I was his secretary, and I thought very highly of him. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers ... and I pray that all of you are able to find peace. Isaiah 12:2 -- “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”

Iris, I am so sorry to learn of Joel's passing. He was a close friend of mine in highschool. There was a group of us that got together every Friday or Saturday night, usually at his parents home. This kept us all out of trouble. LOL
And if you remember, you helped us in the adoption of my nieces baby to a lovely Christian family some 22 years ago when you worked at Bethany. I still think of you often.
My heart goes out to you and your family at this time. I will be keeping you in my prayers. He was way too young to leave us but I know he is in a better place standing in awe of his surroundings. I just returned from a trip to Israel and my heart is heavy with being in the very place that Jesus walked. And now Joel is walking with our precious Jesus.
