John McNabb Obituary

John (Jack) K. McNabb died peacefully after open heart surgery on April 3, 2011 at Kindred Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL. Born on March 31, 1933, he was the second to youngest of 13 children. He leaves a brother, Robert McNabb of Wayne, PA and a sister, Sister Rosemary McNabb of St. Anne Villa, Convent Station, NJ. He was the loving companion of 23 years to Diane Wilson of Kingston, and devoted to her daughter Jennifer and husband Michael Murray of Kingston. He was Grampa Jack to their 3 children. He leaves sons John McNabb of Cohasset, Michael McNabb of Scituate, Christopher McNabb of China and Gerald McNabb and his wife Rachel of Riverdale Park, MD. He leaves his daughters Tara McNabb of Columbus, MT and Lauren and her husband Daniel Nolan of Scituate. He was Grampa Jack to 7 grandchildren. Jack grew up in West Roxbury, MA, graduating from Boston College. He was proud to have been an Eagle. He practiced law for 46 years, doing a great deal of pro bono work for victims of domestic violence connected with the South Shore Women's Center, formerly of Kingston. He was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 12 from 10am to 1PM at the Cohasset Lighthouse Keepers Cottage on Border Street, Cohasset, MA. Relatives and friends of Jack are kindly asked to bring a memory to share. Graveside services will be held at Bourne National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at 3 PM. Jack was an avid reader. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Kingston Public Library.
