Mr. Nadeau was born March 3, 1923. He joined the Merchant Marines at the age of 18 at the beginning of World War II. Although his education was limited, Mr. Nadeau was able to build the house they lived in for nearly 40 years. He could read a book and then be able to build anything. Later, he built their house on Lake Sinclair. After his retirement, Mr. Nadeau enjoyed antique cars and spending time with this grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Chuck Nadeau.
Mr. Nadeau is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Virginia Burgess Nadeau of Perry; his sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Karen Nadeau of Buford, and Jim and Sheree Nadeau of Kathleen; his grandchildren, Zack Nadeau, Caitlin Nadeau, Sheridan Nadeau, and Logan Nadeau; and many nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to him as "Uncle Joe".
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Joe was a very memorable ship mate on the tanker Alaska Standard. A truly professional Second Mate with an easy going style and I will never forget his stories of the tasty pecans of Perry, Georgia. Fair Winds and Following Seas...
