The last time I saw her we planned for her to visit me at my home in Mexico City. That was in June of last year. A few months later she was diagnosed with cancer. Never miss the opportunities to see your friends. My plans were to fly to Atlanta tomorrow and visit her. Georgia has lost another gem.

I met LaTrelle in McDonough about thirty years ago in my twenties. I was smitten with her. Her style, her taste, her embrace of life. I am forever grateful she was in and out of my life. I found this picture from an article in the local paper where she donated her family house to Henry County for the arts. This is how I remember her.

Latrelle was a true class act in addition to being very smart, talented, funny and generous. She had impeccable taste and brought a sense of classic charm to anything she touched. I feel very lucky to have known her and so glad I was able to be in touch with her in her last days. She was at peace about moving on.

I met LaTrelle in N.Y. we became fast friends and shared many adventures and lots of laughs. She was like the big sister I never had. She had impeccable style and taste and sense of mischief. She lived a good life and will be remembered for her joy.
