Lamar Black Obituary

Lamar Black -CORDELE - Funeral services will be held for Lamar Black at 11A.M. Tuesday, February 14, 2006 in the chapel of Hughes and Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Monday, February 13, 2006. -Mr. Black died Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Cordele Health and Rehab Center. Born September 22, 1930 in Crisp County, Mr. Black was the son of the late Annie Louise Jones Black and the late Troy Lucian Black. He retired after twenty-eight years as an insurance agent with Liberty National Life. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. -Surviving Mr. Black are his wife, Elizabeth R. Black of Cordele; two sons, Randy Black of Pitts and Marty Black of Cordele; three daughters, Debra Parham of Cordele, Pam Dodd of Suffolk, VA and Jackie Wells of Blairsville; two brothers, Troy Leonard Black of Lake Park and Gerald Black of Forest Park; a sister, Karen B. Carter of Cordele; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. -Mr. Black is preceded in death by two grandchildren, Glenn Bartlett and Tammy Renae Black. -An online guest book is available at www.hughesandwright.com. -Hughes and Wright Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
