Macon , GA - Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church at 11:00am with burial in Cherry Blossom Memorial Garden. Wake: Friday, January 24, 2014 from 7-8pm at Chapel, Montpelier Ave. Services entrusted to Bentley & Sons Funeral Home, Macon.

Man you are one of the best individuals I ever met. Your mother had a wonderful son. My grandmother and entire family loved this man to death. Brother was an awesome person and my cousin had the best boyfriend ever and friend in Marcus Gainey. Nothing bad to ever say about him and I remember all the Times we ate Fish dock with him and that one time he had a roach on is fish dock plate he had us going. Very sweet guy and man I miss u down to my soul and I would give my life for you to live again brother. Heaven shines more with you and God needed u brother. I love u Marcus. Never forgotten.

I fell to my knees when I found out about Marcus passing. Such a special friend he was to me. We didn't talk all the time but when we did, "easy breezy" Marcus always made it feel like we never missed a beat. Really kind hearted, super chill, fun and loving...those are some of the words that come to mind when thinking of him. Wow, I will really miss you. Glad our last words to each other years ago were very supportive and encouraging for I never thought this is when we would meet again. My heart goes out to your Mom and your family. Rest in eternal peace.

It is always so hard to find just the right words to say at a time like this. Marcus was a GREAT fellow. I taught him in kindergarten . Such super manners and intelligence.I will miss that smile and comforting "how are you today?" Yolanda , you did a Great job!! Be assured that God will continue to watch over you. It still seems like yesterday that our path crossed. I can remember it like it was just this morning. When I learned that you would no longer be just a call, text or fb message away, my heart was broken and I couldn't stop crying. I even tried to call you as well as sent you an fb message (hoping to see your name pop up on my phone to say don't believe everything you see on fb) because I wanted this to all be a bad dream. It's still hard to believe as I sit here writing this and wiping the tears away. You were my first love, my first everything (smile). It's been hard to process the fact that you are no longer here on earth anymore. Now I can only cherish all the memories that we shared. I have cried many nights since you've been gone but I know God doesn't make mistakes and this was his plan and I'm glad he saw fit to place you in my life like he did. You always showed me how much you cared regardless of our differences throughout the years and you never had anything bad to say.
