I have known Ms. Dawson for more than 50 years. She was our longtime neighbor and she used to teach at MM Burdell which was the first elementary school that I attended. Ms. Dawson befriended my family around this time. When I was going into the 2nd grade at Burdell. My dad passed that summer of 1972 and we had to move from Ft. Hill. We just happened to move to the same neighborhood where Ms. Dawson was staying. Me and two of my sisters did not want to go to our new school just yet. We wanted to stay at Burdell. Ms. Dawson volunteered to let us ride with her for the whole school year to Burdell. We were so grateful. I thanked he for her kindness many time s over the years. She was my mentor and VBS teacher at New Pleasant Grove over the years. I no longer live in Macon anymore. I last saw Ms. Dawson in 2019. At the time, she told me that she really missed her late husband. I went home this past Christmas and I stopped by house to see her. No one answered the door. Ms. Dawson, I would like to thank you again for what you did for me and my 2 sisters. We are forever grateful. You were and always will be a dedicated and caring person for your family, friends, and others. I will always cherish the memories. My condolences go out to Omar and Gerdine. May God continue to bless you and yours. May you rest in Peace. ML.

I am deeply sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. I met Mrs. Dawson through a mutual friend shortly after her graduation from college. We immediately bonded because we shared the first and middle name. My prayer is,may God continue to provide comfort, strength and peace during your time of bereavement and may she forever be within our hearts.

Mrs. Dawson was a very special and caring person. I will never forget how she helped me while I was in college and it was with her that I had my first teaching experience as her aide. You are a blessed family to have had her as a mother. My deepest sympathy is with each of you.
