Nancy Beckwith Obituary

Savannah, GA- Nancy Meeks Beckwith, 81, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully in Savannah on Sunday, July 2nd, 2017.
Born in Deland Florida, Nancy pioneered as one of the earliest women to break into the ranks of Stock Brokerage when she began her career with Merrill Lynch in 1969. She led a storied career as a Stock Broker, Brokerage Manager, and Financial Advisor for 37 years. Along the way, she counseled, mentored, and shaped the successful careers of hundreds of men and women, who continue to this day to express their adoration and gratitude for the lessons and wisdom she provided. To Nancy, everything was possible through sheer determination, as long as you tried to do the "Right Thing for the Right Reasons".
Nancy was loving wife to her late husband Ed Beckwith, to whom she was married for 54 years. She was a model of wisdom, integrity, and generosity to her son Kevin and daughter-in-law Cassie Beckwith, and a shining light of love to her grandchildren Sallie Rose and Lulie Beckwith, all of Savannah, Georgia.
Also surviving are Nancy's brother Hubert (Mary) Meeks, sister-in-law Carolyn Meeks, sister-in-law Jinx (Jack) O'Neal, brother-in-law Cecil Boone, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends, all so important and special in Nancy's life.
There will be a Visitation at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Memorial Drive location in Savannah, Georgia on Wednesday, July 5th, 2017 from 5pm to 7pm.
The funeral service will take place at 2pm, Friday, July 7th, 2017 at the Spring Hill Christian Church in Ochlocknee, Georgia, conducted by Pastor Ernie Beckwith. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.

My heart breaks at the loss of a mentor and friend. I wouldn't be where I am today in this business were it not for Nancy's guidance and friendship. Her words of encouragement when I had to make a difficult decision to move overseas made the decision so much easier. She really knew how to put things in perspective. We lost a GREAT one! My deepest sympathies to Kevin and family.
