Phyllis Sceals Lane Newberry -MACON - Phyllis Sceals Lane Newberry passed away after a long illness, June 20, 2004 at 1:17P.M. Services will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at 10A.M. at Midway Baptist Church with the Reverend Joey Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. -Visitation is Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Hart's Mortuary. -The family may be contacted at 7055 Lower Thomaston Road. -Mrs. Newberry was a member of Midway Baptist Church. -Survivors, husband, Larry Newberry of Macon; six daughters, Esther Dowling of Waycross, GA, Kaye Nease of Guyton, GA, Ingrid "Ivy" Sullivan of Folkston, GA, Rebecca Goines of Register, GA, Thedis Rozier of Roberta, GA and Pamelia Newberry Briscoe of Cairo, GA; Brother, Robert E. Sceals of Seattle, WA; Sisters, Pat Weppleman of FL, Carol Chuhatz of Raeford, NC, Kathy Capen of Goldsberg, NC; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. -Hart's Mortuary has charge of arrangements. Daddy Larry, My heart goes out to you now that Momma is gone, you are in my prayers. I know how loosing your spouse feels, I want to let you know that you are not alone. God is always there to help you through the tough times as well as the good times, just call on Him for help and support. We will all miss Momma greatly, it is so much easier letting go knowing that she is with our Lord now and not suffering anymore.

Dear Daddy,

Moma wasn't just a mother to me. She was my best friend. I'm missing her so much already. I feel blessed to have 38 years with her. I have some very precious memories of her. I'm so thankful that I got to spend the last night with her that she was able to speak. And got to her her sweet voice say she loved me that last time. I was by her side rubbing her head when she smiled and took her last breathes. I will cherish those moments forever. I know she's in heaven now. I do miss my very beautiful and loving mother. And Daddy I do love you very much.

I know that you will truly miss Phyllis and my heart and prayers are with you. As you know, I have never been one to talk a lot and words escape me now. I spoke to Phyllis just before things started going down hill and I know that she knew who I was and that I do care. She was always so good at expressing herself. I wish I could be as thoughtful and faithful as she was about sending cards to family and friends. We love and pray for you daily.

Dad (Larry),I know most of all you will miss mother most of all and I will be praying for you every day.I held mother's hand during her last breath and I cannot tell you how strong I felt the power of God when she smiled and it was like he was pulling her away from me.Mom is with her Lord and at Peace now and I will always cherish that moment.I felt his power and I know now he is so real.
