R. Bembry Obituary

R. Thomas Bembry -HAWKINSVILLE - R. Thomas Bembry, 91, of Hawkinsville, GA, died at his residence in Pulaski County, Monday, October 27, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 3P.M. Tuesday at the Hawkinsville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Gary Abbott, Rev. Lanier Beasley, Rev. Gary Andrew and Rev. Buddy Conway officiating. Burial will be in the Bembry Family Cemetery in Pulaksi County. -Mr. Bembry was a native of Pulaski County. He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church. Mr. Bembry was a retired successful Farmer and Agribusinessman. He was a tireless benefactor to the Pulaksi Community. He was a director for the Ogmulgee E.M.C. for over 30 years. Mr. Bembry was the former owner of the Pulaski Stockyard and the Dixie Bonded Warehouse. -Survivors include one niece and one nephew, Amy Bembry Finleyson (Bill) and Dr. Johnny W. Bembry (Latrelle) all of Hawkinsville, GA; great niece and two great nephews, Elizabeth Finleyson Cowart (Eric) and William Bennett Bembry, all of Hawkinsville, GA and John Tilden Bembry of Atlanta, GA. -Pallbearers will be Randy Coody, Honorable Hugh Lawson, Pete Martin, Robert Lancaster, Tommy Lancaster, R. Jerry Lancaster, Ernest Mashburn and Dr. Reubin Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers will be the board of Directors of the Ogmulgee E.M.C. -In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Corinth Baptist Church, Hawkinsville, GA, or the Georgia Baptist Childrens Home. -Clark Funeral Home, Hawkinsville, GA, in charge of arrangements.
