Richard Howard Obituary

Command Sgt. Major Richard A. Howard, (US Army, Ret.) -WARNER ROBINS - CSM Richard A. Howard, (US Army, Ret.) passed away Saturday, November 30, 2002 at the Houston Medical Center. Services will be held at 11A.M. on Friday, December 6 at Northside Baptist Church with interment following at the Georgia War Veterans Cemetery in Milledgeville. Visitation will be Thursday from 7:00 until 9:00P.M. at McCullough Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Northside Baptist Church Building Fund. -CSM Howard was born in West Plains, Missouri. He was retired from the United States Army where he had been the Command Sergeant Major for the HHC 101st Aviation Brigade. He was a veteran of both Vietnam and Desert Storm. During his service to his country he received numerous awards including the: Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Aircraft Crewmember Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Overseas Service Bar, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Air Medal, Army Crew Chief Wing of Honor, Air Assault Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was employed in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base where he had been working at the Robins AFB Golf Course. He attended Northside Baptist Church. His parents, Hubert and Elva Howard, preceded him in death. -Survivors include his wife, Connie (Pierce) Howard, Warner Robins; daughters, Kristi Rogers, Toyha Carpenter; sisters and brothers (all from Utah), Doris Land, Janice Searle, Billy Howard, Harold Howard, Gerald Howard, Devern Howard; grandchildren, Tyler and Laklyn Rogers, Carissa Clements, D.J. and Sheina Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews. -Go towww.mcculloughfh.comto sign Online Registry for the family. -McCullough Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
