Warner Robins, GA- Warner Robins, GA: Mr. Robert Chandler, 87, passed away on Sunday, September 2nd, 2012, at his home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 6th, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Bob was born on June 16th, 1925, to the late Mr. Samuel Milton and Mary F. (Bennett) Chandler in Atlanta, GA. Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy, an employee of Robins Air Force Base until his retirement after 33 years of service, and a deacon in the First Presbyterian Church of Warner Robins, where he was an active member. He volunteered with the Meals on Wheels and served on the Men's Grievance Committee with Hospice. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Betty Johnson Chandler. Survivors include his daughters: Susan (Deryl) Jackson of Blairsville, GA, Ginger (Doyle) Thornton of Madison, AL and Robin Chandler of Charlotte, NC. He had five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also Doris Niforth a companion of eighteen years. Bob was well-versed on many different topics and enjoyed learning throughout his life. He loved nature and respected all things outdoors - the sky, trees and animals. He loved to spend time hunting, fishing and walking in the woods. His love and appreciation of nature and all things created was passed on to his girls. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart of Georgia Hazel Colson Inpatient Hospice House. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
