Samuel Edward Rivers, Sr. -LAGRANGE-Samuel Edward Rivers, Sr., 90, formerly of Macon, died Tuesday, February 13, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 11A.M. Thursday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. Rev. Mike McAfee and Rev. Larry Roberts will officiate. -Mr. Rivers was born in Warrenton, NC and was the son of the late Samuel B. and Lena Elizabeth Loyd Rivers. He was a United States Army veteran and was retired from Bateman Food Stores. Mr. Rivers was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, the Solomon-Joycliff Sunday School Class, and was a former member of the Ingleside Kiwanis for over thirty years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Bennett Rivers, and a son, Samuel E. Rivers, Jr. -Mr. Rivers is survived by his grandsons, Samuel Edward Graham of LaGrange and Samuel E. Rivers, III of Dillon, CO; brothers, Erving Rivers of Tampa, FL and Bob Rivers of Ventura, CA. -The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M.
