Steve Jones Obituary

Stephen M. Jones, 51, entered into rest on Saturday, May 21, 2011.
Steve was born on August 31, 1959 in Atlanta. A longtime employee of Warner Robins Supply, he worked as an Installed Sales Manager. He was very involved with his church, Overflow Fellowship, where he served in several ministries and in various capacities, one being the head of sound and media. He enjoyed time with his family and the Monday nights Family Night. Steve was a skilled craftsman and could do most anything with his hands. He used these skills to serve his church, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert W. "Bobby" Jones and Edsel Jones; sister, Nella Jones; and parents, Reverend Guy Jones and Eunice Autry Jones.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of thirty-one years, Deborah Jones; daughters, Stephanie Kidd (Delane) and Sara Jones, both of Bonaire; grandchildren, Jada Kidd and Eli Kidd; siblings, Helen Jones, Winter Park, Florida; Myra Adams, Mableton, Georgia, Sharon Jones and Betty Jones, both of Atlanta; Guy Jones, Jr., Austell; Phillip Jones, Warner Robins; Betty Manning, Winter Park, and Hallie Newton, Marrietta; sisters-in-law, Dora Jones and Kathy Barger; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Visitation will be Monday, May 23, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3P.M. on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Southside Baptist Church, Pastor Darren Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Overflow Fellowship Building Fund, 508 S. Pleasant Hill Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.

Phillip, I'm sorry to hear about Steve. I haven't seen him since he was just a giggling little kid. Also, I didn't know Bobby had passed. Send me an email at [email protected].

With each crossing over of each friend that I have shared good times with, I find myself without words to say. The Jones family has been close to my heart. One word I will say "Prepared". Steve was prepared for this journey. He sang about it for years. My thoughts and prayers to a very caring family.
