Sylvan Golden Obituary
Sylvan Golden, age 93, died peacefully in his sleep on April 3, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls. His funeral service will be at 10:30 AM. Monday, April 7, at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial of his cremains will be at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton.
Sylvan was born near Shindler, SD on December 12, 1920 to Charlie and Myrtle (Mathison) Golden. He grew up and attended school in Sioux Falls. Sylvan was united in marriage to Geri VanGronigen on January 18, 1946.
Grateful for being allowed to share his life are his four children - Connie (Don) Arp, Sioux Falls, Charlotte (Steve) Espeland, Canton, Charles Golden and Connie Taylor, Sioux Falls, and John (Penny) Golden, Sioux Falls; and a special dancing partner, Juliene Peterson; 16 grandchildren, 33 3/4 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
