Macon, GA- Thomas Clough Beall - March12, 1953 - December 24, 2014.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at 2:00PM, in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street. Burial will be private.
Born and raised in Macon, graduated from Central High School. Tom graduated from University of Georgia GA. He is pre-deceased by Parents Joel Chambliss Beall and Mary Parks Beall.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Stephanie Cabero Beall, Children Shannon (Bert)) Rosenberger of Gray, Bryan Beall of Milledgeville. Siblings Jim (Susan) Beall of Bowman GA, and Susan (Charlie) Ouzts of Monroe County Forsyth, GA. His grandchildren he called his "little buddies", Barrett and Brantley Rosenberger. A sister-in-law Andrea (Alfred) Carr of Hawkinsville, Father- in- law, Andrew Cabero Jr. of Hawkinsville and a host of nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his beloved dogs, Apollo and Brutus.
Tom was retired from the Atlanta Journal and Constitution. In a career that spanned from 1975 to 1984 he played professional softball where he earned five All-American selections playing for Reeds Nuts from Pinehurst, GA; Howard and Carroll from Sherrill's Ford, NC. and Howard's-Western Steer from Denver, NC. With Howard's he smashed 995 homers, drove in 2,065 runs and had a six year batting average of .662. In 1980 led the ASA National Men's Major Slow Pitch Tournament in homers with 17. In April of 2003 he was inducted into the Macon Sports Hall of Fame for outstanding contributions in Softball.

I didn't know Tom as an adult - my acquaintance with him began long before that when we were very young children. It would be hard to imagine my life without the richness and joy contributed by him. Thank you, Tom, my friend.

Stephanie and family your Tom and I go back to high school . The last time I saw him was at Bass Pro Shop . I was just crossing the street when I saw him and his unforgettable smile toss his change over his head into the pond under the water wheel. He was by himself but you would have thought that he had his family all around him ! He saw me and we talked for a while . I will always cherish this picture I have in my minds eye of him tossing that change over his shoulder with that infectious smile . What a wonderful spirit he was !

Having just spoke with Dale Whitley, who introduced me to Tom, we both mourn his passing and send our prayers and utmost condolences to his family and grandchildren. It was always an honor to share the field of competition with Tom as well as being his good friends. Dale and I agree that Tom was one of the best Leftfielders we played with or against. Sad day in the Whitley house, just found out that my friend had passed. I was lucky enough to play softball with Tom in many of my 27 years of playing.Tom was one of the best left fielders that I had the privilege of playing with. We had many great times and I will miss him dearly. A great man and a wonderful person. I will miss you dearly old friend.

Tom touched so many people, and I'm fortunate to be one of them. We all have good memories of him because he knew how to make good times happen. I enjoyed our good times in Macon, St. Simons, Savannah—particularly St. Patrick's Day—and Tybee Island. I will always remember his boundless energy, his infectious laugh, and his colloquial expressions. Whenever we greeted each other, the first words Tom spoke were “Happy Habersham!” Well, good ol' buddy, I'll say one more time to you, “Happy Habersham.”

We are so sorry to hear the sad news of Tom's passing. Our prayers go out to Tom's friends and family. We had just talked on FB hours before he went home. Tom and I were Central High School friends an picked up on FB years later.
We may never know why some leave this earth too early but must keep our personal faith strong.

I have the best memories of Tom when I was in high school. He could tell any story and it was hilarious! His personality definitely lit up the room. I enjoyed being back in touch with him through Facebook. In fact, I had plans to see him in January and get some of his famous barbque sauce! My prayers are with all of his family

I met Tom when he played softball for Reed Nuts, Chuck Freeman (my Ex) always spoke very highly of Tom. Tom was always so sweet and cheerful. I joy to be around. Tom and I reconnected a few years ago and became facebook friends. I enjoyed all his posts about his life and especially his family life. He loved his family so much. My heart goes out to you during this time of grief. I pray that God will give you comfort and peace. For I know Tom is already forming a softball Team in Heaven. RIP my friend!

As I told you on the phone yesterday, I knew Tom as a fraternity brother in high school and we reconnected several years ago on FB. Last year when I was in Macon, a lengthy conversation reinforced my impression of him as a kind, caring man, genuine, authentic, with a great sense of humor and a warm laugh.
