Virginia Lunsford Obituary

Virginia Evans Lunsford
July 18, 1930 - February 3, 2022
Warner Robins, Georgia - On Thursday, February 3, 2022, Virginia Evans Lunsford passed away at the age of 91.
The beloved daughter of the late Gradon and Alice Thompson Evans, Virginia was born and raised in Fairmount, Georgia. Shortly after high school, she married the love of her life, William (Bill) Henry Lunsford. Together, the couple moved to Jasper, Georgia, and worked for Bill's parents' business, a general store in Carn's Mill. Bill then joined the Army Air Corps and Virginia became a proud military wife. She enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband. After Bill's time in the service, they later returned to Jasper, Georgia, and opened their own business . They operated the store until their retirement. In 1994, they settled in Warner Robins to be closer to family. Virginia spent her golden years gardening, fishing, playing miniature golf, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and playing BINGO.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, William (Bill) Henry Lunsford; son-in-law, Howard Gregory; five brothers and seven sisters.
Her memory will forever be treasured by daughters; Ann Gregory of Kathleen, Mary Sue Roman (Jesse) of Hampton; Virginia, grandchildren; Suzanne Gregory, Angela Carrillo, Keeley Weeks, Hiram Legrand, Erika Robertson, Tamara Hoffman; and six grandchildren; Ozzy Rush, Dayja Weeks, Jaxxon Robertson, Logan Robertson, Lola Legrand and Colin Legrand.
Many thanks to the staff of The Phoenix at Lake Joy, Warner Robins, Senior Living Community, for the excellent care they provided to Mrs. Lunsford.
