Harry and I were saddened to hear of your loss. There's not enough words to express our sympathy. What a wonderful Christmas Wally will have--one with no pain and suffering! If there's anything we can do, please don't hesitate to let us know.

I was very sad to hear this news, Wally was a wonderful person that never failed to help those around him with any problem. We met in Fairborn Ohio during a training class in 1983. We were both new hires to the federal government destined to retun to WRAFB. The winter we endured, along with the training classes for 4 months in Ohio, were very intense...had it not been for Wally's ability to make me laugh everyday I might not have made it through. Once we returned to WR, Wally left for greener pastures and I eventually took a job in Atlanta. He was working for a local bank at the time and helped me secure a rental for a short period as I made the transition. My heart goes out to the family during this difficult time, rest in peace my friend.

Charlene and Marcy,
Calvin and I have such good memories of our short time with the Hiott family...Wally and Calvin sure worked hard to make sure that the children's theater production of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever"was memorable and fun. It was both and we enjoyed getting to know you all as a family. Wally had a warm, out-going personality and we always thought the world of him. We knew from mutual friends that Wally had fought a long battle and we are sure that he was a tremendous warrior. In the days and weeks to come we hope that you will find great comfort and peace in the special memories that you each have and that friends and family will share their fondest thoughts as well.
We send our loving thoughts and prayers and hope that you feel God's loving presence in your time of sorrow.

Although it was not un-expected, I still found myself shocked and a bit teary when I heard the news of your loss. Wally was someone special who will always have a place in my heart. Though we were rivals when it came to college football, it was interesting, fun, and always in the spirit of good sportsmanship. I will miss our annual lunch after the GA/UT game. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, and I will happily provide any assistance that you may need.
