William Thomas (Bill) Rogers
December 16, 1922 - October 4, 2021
Panama City, Florida - Also known as W.T. Rogers, passed away in peace after a brief illness in Panama City, Florida. Bill was a World War II veteran serving as Chief Petty Officer on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Yorktown (CV-10). After the war, Bill graduated from Georgia Tech with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He spent his career working for the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Corporation and was the District Engineer for territories in Georgia around Atlanta, Macon, and Brunswick. Bill was married to Marjorie Bell Rogers and raised three children; William Paul Rogers, Susan Christine Smith, Thomas Albert Rogers, along with the foster care of two additional children upon the death of his sister, Jean; Gay Mustard and Katherine Lee Mustard. Bill was predeceased by the two women he loved from his marriages; Marjorie and Elaine. Bill is survived by his children, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be conducted by the family. The family asks that in lieu of gifts or flowers, please offer memorial donations to Hospice in your local community.
