William Gerald Waddell
December 16, 1939 - January 3, 2023
Perry, Georgia - William Gerald Waddell, 83, passed away peacefully on the evening of Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Mr. Waddell was born on December 16, 1939, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late William and Peggy Peau Waddell. He proudly served his country with dignity and honor as a member of the United States Air Force before going to work on Robins Air Force Base as a security specialist. Later in life, he served as a bailiff at the federal courthouse in Macon. Mr. Waddell was a history buff and especially loved the medieval era. He was also an accomplished artist.
His memory will forever be treasured by his sons; Donald S. Waddell (Marissa) of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, Damie Waddell (Viki) of Macon, and Gedie Dustin Waddell (Leah) of Perry; his grandchildren; Audrey Waddell, Ella Waddell, Cole Waddell, Stone Waddell (Jess), Dusty Waddell, Hunter Waddell, Dakota Waddell, Nolan Waddell, Hali Brown, Jaleann Robinson, and Angelina Richardson (Matt); his brother, James N. Waddell (Peggy) of Thomaston; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
Visitation with Mr. Waddell's family will be Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Joe Hill officiating. Following the service, Mr. Waddell will be laid to rest next to his parents in Upson Memorial Gardens in Thomaston, Georgia at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to his caregiver, Sarah Hill; his nurses; Mimosa and MaryBeth; and his sitter, Jennifer Altamirano.
