As a young man in my 20´s, Willie was a teacher and mentor to me throughout several years working at Noland Company, Macon. He taught me many things and information that put me on a rewarding career path. Although he could be cantankerous, probably because he got tired of me asking him questions, we had a lot of laughs and good times. I recall one time I completely destroyed the upper rail of big steel shelving by accident. There was a very loud noise, and Willie came running. I thought he was about to rip me a new one, but his first concern was if i was ok. The ripping of the new one came later. He was generous with his time to teach me about product and business, and was a cool cat. I respected him and he showed mutual respect. That was almost 25 years ago. I owe, in a large degree to great mentors like Willie, where I am today in regard to work, and life. He did a lot of good in this world that I saw personally, and i am sure God welcomed him home, where hopefully they don´t do product inventories. We all hated those. RIP friend.
