NEW GLARUS / DODGEVILLE – Aaron Robert Cushman, age 51, the son of Robert and Diane (Arneson) Cushman, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
Aaron was born in Dodgeville, WI on August 13, 1971. He relocated to Arizona with family but returned to Dodgeville in 1983, where he graduated from high school. Aaron's career began as a law enforcement officer and Green County sheriff's deputy. He also worked for the Department of Justice in Madison and most recently as a FedEx driver.
Aaron married Karen Holets on October 22, 2004. They made their home in New Glarus and enjoyed many adventures together with their dogs.
Aaron is survived by his wife Karen and her son Andrei Vultaggio; his mother Diane; his brother Brian (Angie) Cushman; his father-in-law William Holets; nieces Courtney, Katie, Karlie, Kaleigh and Kelsey.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Cushman; his grandparents Robert and Izro Cushman and Jerry and Fern Arneson; uncles Arnold Meyers, Scott Arneson, Richard Aurit, Richard Cushman; aunt Sandra (Arneson) Ramsden; and mother-in-law Sharon Holets.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville.
For his love of animals and in lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Iowa County Humane Society.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. My heart goes out to Aaron's wife/family, to Diane and to Brian. We've lost touch over the years, but I'll always remember the cute , cuddly little boys that I babysat. Msy God be with you all. Sheila (Koehler) Luck.
