Althea Trow Obituary
February 3, 1928 - October 17, 2024
Althea J. Trow, 96, passed away at The Heights in Evansville on October 17, 2024. She was born on February 3, 1928, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI, the daughter of Herman and Agnes (Baumgarten) Licht. Althea graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1946.
On December 9, 1978, she married R. Burdell Trow at Holy Cross Church in Madison, WI. Althea was a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church in Oregon where she was a charter member. A highlight of her life was her passion for gardening, which included visiting gardens across the country. She loved flowers, her flower garden, traveling, dining out, and her church community. Althea dedicated 41 1/2 years of her career to American Family Insurance.
She is survived by her husband, Burdell; her nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Wanda Williams of CT and Elaine Trow of Madison. Althea was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Norman Licht, Marvin Licht, Gertrude Pieper, Arloween Oyan, and Sylvia King. She was also preceded by nephews Danny and Marvin Licht Jr., Rodrick and Jeffrey Meyer; niece Sharon Golz; and great-niece Emily Oyan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Faith Lutheran Church, 143 Washington Street, Oregon, WI. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Evansville, WI. Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home is assisting the family.
