Barbara Jean Dickie

MADISON - Barbara Jean Dickie, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Heritage Monona. She was born on September 25, 1939, in Little Falls, Minn., the daughter of Philip Dickie and Viola Lindgren. At a young age, Barbara moved from Minnesota to Wisconsin, where she grew up.

Barbara graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1957 and received her B.A. in English from the UW-Oshkosh. She worked for the State of Wisconsin as an adjudicator for over 30 years. She enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels and knitting.

Barbara is survived by her son, Richard Dickie; step-brother, John (Teddi) Scholz; step-nephew, Matt; and step-nieces, Amanda and Beth. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip (Margaret) Dickie and Viola (Harold) Scholz.

A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025.
