Barbara Ann (Schultz) Ross
April 5, 1937 – March 24, 2024
MADISON - Barbara Ann (Schultz) Ross passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Parkside Senior Living in DeForest. She was born on April 5, 1938, in Cottage Grove, Wis., to Raymond and Geraldine (Johnson) Schultz.
Barbara attended Deerfield High School where she met her husband, Thomas. They raised four children together and spent 50 wonderful years together before Tom's passing in 2006. They started their married life together in Madison and gained many valuable friendships with their neighbors. They moved to Ottawa, Ill., and a few years later moved to DeForest, Wis.
Barb enjoyed gardening and was a talented seamstress. She sewed many items for her children and grandchildren over the years. She was an avid member of the Arlington Curling Club. Barb was involved with Eastern Star of Wisconsin and served in many ways including Worthy Matron and also as a Grand Officer. She was also an active member of Christian Faith Moravian Church of DeForest. She worked in the office of the church and served on boards for many years.
Barbara is survived by her four children, Debbie Holum (Doug Cleven), Jeff (Rebecca) Ross, Dawn (Keith) Hagey, and Linda (Brian) Hosey; brother, Allen Schultz of Elko, Nev.; 10 grandchildren, John (Sarah) Holum, Harry (Cristina) Overly, Melissa Overly (Phillip Huddleston), Steven Holum, Anna (Nick) Payne, Thomas (Stacey) Ross, Abigail (Joe) Manwarren, Margaret (Darren) Green, Ethan Hosey, David (Victoria) Hagey; 13 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
A funeral service will be held at CHRISTIAN FAITH MORAVIAN CHURCH, 805 E. Holum St., DeForest, at 12 noon on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, with a luncheon to follow. A graveside service will follow the luncheon at Moravian Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Starlight Chapter of the Eastern Star or Christian Faith Moravian Church of DeForest.
