I met Ben when I first starting working on campus many years ago. He was welcoming, friendly and had a wry sense of humor. I was immediately impressed with his true dedication to helping students. Always an advocate and a problem solver, he knew his campus connections well and used them on behalf of his students. He certainly left his mark on me and countless numbers of undergraduates over the years. RIP Ben, you're earned it.

"papa Ben" as I called him. Thinking about him today as I learned about his passing. When you are this old, it seems your colleagues are leaving this earth almost every week. While we are just "a speck of dust on this earth " as stated by Dr. Seema Kapani, another former colleague at UW Madison, some dust do make big impact like Ben, for instance. A great colleague, generous office neighbor in Ingraham Hall, a mentor, and most importantly a student services professional who always believed in students, particularly those with whom the system wasn´t made to support their success, Ben will forever be more than a speck of dust for the many lives he had changed. Good bye papa Ben

Many years ago I had the pleasure of working with Benjamin on a community project -- he was dedicated, insightful, full of good humor and a commitment to do good work. And while we have lost touch with each other, it was a joy to work with him in the past and I am deeply sad to hear of his passing. Benjamin Rodriguez -- PRESENTE!!
