Bernie Kvam Obituary
October 24, 1931 - July 23, 2025
LODI - On July 23, 2025, Bernie J. Kvam left Dove Healthcare for a new mansion prepared for him by the Lord.
He was born October 24, 1931, to Bernie O. and Norma (Jameson) Kvam and lived his entire life in Lodi graduating from Lodi High School. Bernie attended Madison Vocational School while he was waiting to be drafted and thus started his sign writing career. He served in the U.S. Army two years and then married Audrey Saager in 1955 and celebrated 70 years this past January. Two children were born to complete this family, Kenneth (Monica) living in Baraboo and Kathy (Charlie) Panosian who lives in Dodgeville/Lodi. Bernie worked in several sign shops in Madison and then became a partner in Badger Display Studio until he retired. He really enjoyed the 16 winters that were spent in Green Valley, AZ, making many new friends and doing a lot of art painting and making banners and signs for the Free Church he attended there. Bernie was active in the Lake Wisconsin Evangelical Free Church, Rotary Club, and later the Gideons. He was well known in the area for his truck lettering and banner making which were all done free hand. Bernie was a true artist.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the LAKE WISCONSIN EVANGELICA FREE CHURCH, N1640 Ryan Road, Lodi with service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Robert Dennison presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Lunch will be served after the service. Burial will follow at County Line Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons or Lake Wisconsin EFCA.
