Brian John "Opa" Scheidler
November 10, 1937 - May 24, 2024
MCFARLAND - Brian John Scheidler, age 86, of McFarland, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at McFarland Villa Assisted Living. He was born on Nov. 10, 1937, in Chippewa Falls, Wis., the son of John and Evelyn (Olson) Scheidler.
Brian graduated from McDonell Area Catholic Schools, Chippewa Falls, Wis., and St. Mary's College, Winona, Minn. He retired from the State of Wisconsin after working many years as a computer technician. Brian enjoyed golfing for many years. Eating breakfast at various local restaurants was a favorite for him. He was a longtime member of IHM and lived a life of deep faith.
Brian is survived by one brother, John Scheidler; stepsisters, Judi (Wayne) Akey, Jackie (Jim) Bernier, Joanne (Gary) Leonard and Jane (Dave) Schill; nieces, Evelyn (David) Oja, Marquita (Brian Sweney) Hynes, and Stephanie (Jeff Rae) Hynes; and by close friends, Jeff Zumstein, Julaine Janssen, John Zumstein and Anona Zumstein. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn; stepmother, Francis Scheidler; and sister, Benita Hynes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday June 4, 2024, with Father Chad Droessler presiding. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday.
