SUN PRAIRIE - Carol M. Zander, age 88, died on Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.
She was born on July 31, 1935, in Sun Prairie, and was the daughter of Frank and Julia (Scheuerell) Bedner. She married Ron Zander on October 27, 1953, at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church.
Carol was a long-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was a member of Christian Mothers and helped with Fall Festivals, funeral luncheons, weddings, and sewing quilts.
She is survived by her children: Mike (Sandie) of Superior, Gary (Betty) of Sun Prairie, Diane (Dennis) Schraufnagel of Adell, Karen (Bob) Lange of Sun Prairie, Christine (Pete) Rieck of Madison; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Bedner of Monona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ron; daughter, Judy Schernecker and son-in-law Eugene Schernecker; brothers: Francis and John; sisters: Catherine, Helen and Annette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in East Bristol with Rev. Grant Theis presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers a Memorial fund will be established.
