Charlotte M. Tarala

JANESVILLE - Charlotte M. Tarala, age 93, passed away at home on Saturday, April 16, 2022.
She was born in Platteville, WI, on January 19, 1929, the daughter of Ervin and Celia (Gehrke) Smail. She attended Madison East High School. On May 14, 1949, Charlotte married John L. Tarala in Madison and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2010. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1957.
Charlotte will be remembered for her love of God, love of family, taking and cherishing photographs, playing cards with friends and family, and her love of music, she always had a song to sing.
Charlotte is survived by her four children: John (Kathleen) Tarala, Vicki Learned, Sally Burnstad, and Kathy (R. George) Burmeister; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Mary Charlotte; sons-in-law: Larry Learned and Dana Burnstad; and three siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Inurnment will be in Highland Memory Gardens Madison. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, at the FUNERAL HOME.
